Grant Brown’s 95-yard kickoff return in the fourth quarter gave Rebels the lead for good in a tightly-contested 6A Division I area round game against the Vikings at Grande Communications Stadium in Midland. Lee advances to the regional round next week against Euless Trinity (10-2), with additional arrangements pending.

Key players: Lee senior quarterback Colby Standard accounted for 356 yards of total offense and five total touchdowns. Lamar senior wideout Jaylen Jones ran for 61 yards and two touchdowns and had nine receptions for 116 yards.

Key stat: Lamar sophomore quarterback Jack Dawson recorded season-highs in passing yards (374), attempts (48) and completions (27), with two touchdown passes and a 3-yard touchdown run. Lee had 538 yards of offense, including 303 rushing yards. The two teams combined for 1,056 yards of total yards.
