Arlington Martin shuts out Keller in playoff opener

Junior safety Jayce Godley returned an interception 80 yards for a touchdown to set to tone early as the Warriors cruised past the Indians in a 6A Division I playoff game at Maverick Stadium. Martin returns to Maverick Stadium on Friday to host Odessa Permian at 3:30 p.m.

Key players: Later, quarterback Juma Otoviano threw a 79-yard touchdown pass to Sorrell Brown to put Martin up 35-0. Brown was the lone receiver for the Warriors as he finished with three catches for 128 yards and the score. Brayden Willis added two rushing TDs. Keller senior running back Devon Collins gained 89 yards on 15 carries.

Key stat: The Martin defense contributed 21 points, with two intercepted passes returned for touchdowns and one fumble recovery returned a score.
