Eaton running back shines in victory against Sherman

Eaton running back Titus Swen rushed for 291 yards on 30 carries with two touchdowns to lead the Eagles to a hard-fought 26-21 5-A bi-district win over Sherman at Flower Mound’s Wilson Stadium Friday night. Eaton advances to meet Colleyville Heritage next Friday at Apogee Stadium in Denton.
Key players: Swen rushed for 291 yards on 30 carries and teammate Dawson Pell gained 121 on 13 carries. Nathaniel Omayebu rushed for 141 yards on 26 carries and scored two touchdowns for Sherman. He was stopped on fourth and one at the 14-yard line with 3:14 left in the game to preserve Eaton’s slim 26-21 lead, which the Eagles protected with another long drive to run out the clock.
Key stat: Eaton had 21 first downs to Sherman’s 17 and amassed 441 yards rushing.
