Denton Ryan 42, White Settlement Brewer 17

The Raiders scored 28 unanswered points to begin the second half as they defeated White Settlement Brewer in a Class 5A Division I playoff game Thursday at C.H. Collins Athletic Complex in Denton.

Key players: Ryan wideout and Texas Tech commit Gabriel Douglas scored on a 53-yard punt return and caught five passes for 63 yards and 1 TD. Brewer was led by running back Christian Calton, who rushed 29 times for 132 yards and scored a fourth-quarter touchdown.

Key stat: Ryan QB Spencer Sanders completed 15 of 26 passes for 159 yards and 2 TDs, and added 147 yards and a touchdown on 15 rushes.

Records: Denton Ryan 11-0, Brewer 6-5
