Joshua equals its best season in eight years with a win over Cleburne

Defensive back Stetson Gunter recorded two fourth-quarter interceptions to lead the Owls past the Yellow Jackets in a District 9-5A finale. Joshua linebacker Josh Clarke also had a fourth-quarter interception. Joshua earned its first win over Cleburne since 2007.

Key players: Joshua senior Hayden Chittum had 58 rushing yards, 47 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Joshua senior Cayse Chambers had two sacks for the Owls.

Key stat: Joshua’s four wins was the most since the 2009 team went 4-6.
