Everman downs Centennial to sew up the district title

Everman 54, Burleson Centennial 50

Everman wide receiver J.T. Clark caught four touchdown passes including the game-winner with 50 seconds to play to help the Bulldogs defeat Burleson Centennial, 54-50, and clinch the District 9-5A title outright.

Key players: Clark finished the night with 10 catches for 262 yards and four scores. Everman quarterback Juan Davis threw for 175 yards and four scores, while the Bulldogs other quarterback Antonio Little passed for 120 yards and two scores. Centennial quarterback Kyle Burns rushed for 114 yards and three scores and also threw for a score. Spartans running back Jaylon Jackson combined for 144 yards including two touchdown catches and a scoring run.

Key stat: The game was the last regular season contest for Everman coach Dale Keeling, who is retiring at the end of the season. This is Keeling’s 20th season leading the Bulldogs.

Records: Everman 7-3, 7-0 in District 9-5A; Centennial 5-5, 4-3 in District 9-5A.
