Burleson completes turnaround season with solid win over Crowley

The playoff-bound Elks trailed at halftime, but outscored the Eagles 13-0 after intermission to close the regular season with a win Friday at Crowley’s home field. Crowley led 20-17 at the half, but a 17-yard touchdown run by Devin Stevenson, and a 78-yard touchdown catch and run by Jaylen Johnson was all the Elks needed in the second half. Burleson meets Mansfield Legacy in the opening round of the playoffs, Friday at Fort Worth’s Farrington Field.

Key Players: Johnson finished with 105 receiving yards, while Stevenson rushed for 107 yards on 21 carries. Crowley’s Rodrick Willaims rushed for 75 yards on 13 carries, and teammate Krishton Greer rushed for two touchdowns.

Key Stats: Burleson won just three games in 2016. Crowley is also headed to the playoffs.
