Trophy Club Nelson defense turns away Flower Mound near the finish
Trophy Club Nelson forced and recovered a fumble at its 10-yard line, derailing a potential game-winning drive by Flower Mound with 1:45 to go Friday and handing the Bobcats their first win of the season, 21-20.
Key players: Nelson wide receiver DJ Robinson caught two first-half touchdowns, including an 89-yarder to give the Bobcats an early 21-0 lead. Flower Mound linebacker Alec Brooks had an interception and rushing touchdown to help the Jaguars cut the margin to 21-14 at the half. Nelson defensive back Tyrick Boone returned an interception 39 yards for a touchdown to end Flower Mound’s first drive.
