A week after picking up their first varsity win in two seasons, Fort Worth Benbrook could not stop a Midlothian Heritage offense that scored on its first seven drives, falling 45-28 at Clark Stadium. Heritage scored after stopping Benbrook on downs following three long drives, and got the ball back with a pair of turnovers before the Bobcats could get their offense moving. Benbrook scored three times in the fourth quarter to cut into a 45-7 deficit.
Key players: Benbrook’s Quintan Jackson was a workhorse, scoring twice and piling up 169 yards on 31 carries. The Heritage quarterback combo of Landon Ledbetter and Cade Sumbler combined to throw for 266 yards and four scores.
Key stats: Benbrook finished the game virtually even in total yardage (398-372) and ran 15 more plays than the Jaguars, but lost an interception and a fumble to set up short drives for Heritage.
