Eastern Hills dominates Pinkston in football season-opener
A 10 a.m. kickoff didn’t bother Fort Worth Eastern Hills as the Highlanders rolled over Dallas Pinkston, 51-3, Saturday at Scarbrough-Handley Field. Landdrwell Butler ran for a pair of touchdowns for the Highlanders.
Key players: Eastern Hills senior linebacker Byron Hobbs, who has verbally committed to Texas, had a pair of sacks and returned an interception 12 yards for a score for the Highlanders. Hobbs also caught a two-point conversion pass. The Highlanders scored on big plays twice as Butler ran for a 73-yard score and Demarcus Page scored on a 53-yard run.
Key stat: Things got feisty in the first half as three players from Pinkston and two players from Eastern Hills were ejected. The Highlanders defense limited the Vikings to minus 75 yards on 40 plays.
Records: Dallas Pinkston 0-1, Fort Worth Eastern Hills 1-0.
