Burleson QB throws for five touchdowns in rout over Saginaw
Burleson senior quarterback Hayden Whitten threw for three touchdowns in the second quarter and five touchdowns on the night as the Elks routed host Saginaw 56-7 on Friday night.
Key players: Whitten threw a 71-yard touchdown pass to Caleb Lewis on the first play of the second half. Senior receiver Jaylen Johnson had two touchdowns for 17 and 39 yards as well as returning a punt for 50 yards and a score.
Key stat: Burleson scored a touchdown in every drive of the second quarter in taking a 35-7 halftime lead.
