Opportunistic defense helps Timberview in rout

Mansfield Timberview 44, Everman 8

Mansfield Timberview won its opening game 44-8 over Everman at J.E. Marr Stadium in Everman. The Wolves used a potent offensive attack to grab an early lead. Junior Sammy Hicks scored two rushing touchdowns. Running back Jaden Hullaby added a 62-yard scoring run. The Wolves’ defense recovered four fumbles in the victory.

Key Players: Timberview running backs Jaden Hullaby and Stacy Sneed led the charge with 54 and 53 yards, respectively, and a score. Wolves senior Jyron Russell passed for 189 yards and 1 touchdown. Senior Jalen Knox caught a 93-yard touchdowns. Senior D’Anthony Boone picked off a pass in the win. For Everman, junior quarterback Antonio Little ran for 27 yards and passed for 15. Senior Mikel Madden rushed for 61 yards and fellow senior Sir Dexter Gay caught 1 pass for 10 yards.

Key Stat: Everman was hampered by 80 yards in penalties on the night.
