Marcus defense denies Arlington Bowie in the second half

The Flower Mound Marcus defense had three key fourth-down stops in the the second half to stop potential Arlington Bowie scoring drives as the Marauders opened the season with a 21-16 defeat of the Vols Thursday at Wilemon Field.

Key Players: Flower Mound Marcus junior running back Justin Dinka ran for 237 yards and two touchdowns. Arlington Bowie’s Branden Ellis ran for 159 yards and one touchdown to lead the Volunteers.

Key Stat: Dinka, who holds multiple FBS offers accounted for 78 percent of the Flower Mound offense.

Records: Flower Mound Marcus 1-0, Arlington Bowie 0-1.
