Granbury duo leads Pirates past Fort Worth Western Hills
Granbury’s backfield combination of running back Ty Williams and quarterback Kevin Moore led the Pirates to a 58-6 defeat of Fort Worth Western Hills at Clark Stadium.
Key players: Williams rushed for 165 yards and touchdowns of 41 and 21 yards, along with a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Moore scored a pair 4-yard touchdowns on the ground and threw touchdown passes of 12 and 9 yards. Western Hills RB Jordan Randle gained 109 yards on seven carries, including a 78-yard touchdown.
Key stat: Granbury’s longest scoring drive needed eight plays. The Pirates also had a drive of six plays, two drives of five plays, two three-play drives and one that lasted two plays.
Records: Granbury 1-0, Western Hills 0-1.
