Arlington Bowie too much for FW Paschal, clinches playoff spot
Arlington Bowie earned a playoff berth in a 51-7 win Thursday over Fort Worth Paschal in a District 4-6A game at Wilemon Field in Arlington. Bowie’s offense overcame a slow start and came alive in the second quarter, scoring 23 points.
Key players: Senior quarterback Donoven Davenport threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Davenport added a rushing touchdown in the second quarter. Running backs Branden Ellis and Camron Gardner contributed 48 and 86 yards, respectively. Vols wide receiver Braydon Johnson caught touchdown passes of 64 and 67 yards. For Paschal, quarterback Jaylon Robinson scored on a 40-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Key stat: The Volunteers limited the Panthers to 147 yards and committed only four penalties in the victory.
