Birdville hands Eastern Hills 8-5A loss

Birdville running back T.J. Anderson rushed for 100 yards and one score Thursday night, as the Hawks defeated Fort Worth Eastern Hills 28-3 in a District 8-5A game at Scarborough-Handley Field. Eastern Hills opened the scoring with a 32-yard field goal by Jaylon Brown-Berr in the first quarter before Birdville took over.

Key players: Birdville’s Chris Tucker caught four balls for 72 yards and one score. Hawks reserve quarterback Colby Feris threw for the score and passed for 124 yards. Highlanders running back Kyndal Owens rushed for 62 yards on the night and Courtland Walton caught two passes for 89 yards.

Key stat: Birdville’s defense limited Eastern Hills to 34 yards on the ground.
