Arlington Sam Houston edges FW Paschal for first district victory

Arlington Sam Houston’s Tsamarte Ryan one-yard touchdown run with 7:27 play lifted the Texans past Fort Worth Paschal, 24-17, in a District 8-6A game Friday at Wilemon Field. The win was the Texans first in district play and also made their homecoming a good one.
Key players: Owen Harris led the Texans running game carrying eight times for 102 yards. Ryan finished with 64 yards on nine carries. Paschal quarterback Cooper Bates threw for 168 yards including a 27-yard touchdown pass to Kaylon Geiger. Edmond Allen 15-yard run tied the game at 17-17 with 9:20 to play
Key stat: Sam Houston scored a pair of touchdowns in the span of 43 seconds as Ryan took a screen pass from Jacon Dollar 13 yards for a score and Joshua Grant deflected a pass and returned the interception 21 yards for a score.
