Midway through the high school football regular season, the Aledo Bearcats are undefeated (5-0) and on course to compete for another state title.

Amid the triumphs -- the Bearcats have beaten their first two district opponents by a combined score of 139-7 -- there have also been tribulations and a tragedy that shook the entire school.

Star-Telegram videographers Jared L. Christopher and Jessica Koscielniak are chronicling Aledo’s 2016 season in an original web series called Titletown, TX., with new episodes debuting each Wednesday. Over the course of eight installments so far, they have provided an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at Texas high school football played at its highest level. They have also captured the Friday Night Lights-like passion for football in Aledo, a town about 20 minutes west of Fort Worth.

If you haven’t tuned into Titletown yet, here’s your chance. View all eight episodes below or at titletowntx.com.
