Arlington Martin snaps three-game skid with rout of FW Paschal
The Arlington Martin Warriors snapped a three-game losing streak with three return touchdowns, including 86- and 83-yard kickoff returns by Avery Mathews, in Martin’s 67-17 District 4-6A victory over the Fort Worth Paschal Panthers at Farrington Field.
Key players: Martin QB Matt Cook Jr. was 8 for 9 for 141 yards, plus a 14-yard TD run. Warriors running back Juma Otoviano had two TD runs, and linebacker Aaron Demming returned a fumble for a score. Paschal quarterback Cooper Bates was 10 of 15 for 117 yards and a 43-yard TD pass to Jaylon Robinson, who had seven catches for 83 yards.
Ket stat: The teams traded kickoff return touchdowns in a 43-point first quarter. Mathews ran his first back 83 yards and on the ensuing kickoff Paschal’s Kaylon Geiger answered with a 91-yard scoring return.
