Grapevine overcomes early turnovers to bury Dunbar
Despite six turnovers, four of which occurred in the first quarter, Grapevine cruised to a 51-0 rout of Fort Worth Dunbar in District 8-5A game Thursday at Mustang-Panther Stadium in Grapevine.
Key players: Senior receiver Bryan Wilson had four receptions for 60 yards to lead Dunbar. Grapevine junior quarterback Alan Bowman threw for 318 yards and had five touchdown passes, and he rushed for 33 yards.
Key stat: Grapevine’s defense held Dunbar without a first down until one minute left in the first half. Dunbar’s rushing game was limited to 26 yards on 41 carries.
Records: Dunbar 0-5, 0-2 in 8-5A; Grapevine 5-0, 2-0.
