Burleson pulls away in 2nd half to beat Granbury
Hayden Whitten rushed and passed for a touchdown and made two field goals to lead Burleson past Granbury 35-13 in a District 9-5A opener at Burleson ISD Stadium.
Key players: Whitten had 208 yards passing and 49 rushing. Devin Stevenson rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown for Burleson, his third 100-yard game of the season. Granbury’s Kyler Young threw for 147 yards .
Key stat: The victory tied the all-time series 12-12-0. Burleson scored 25 unanswered point in the second half.
