Mansfield Timberview pulls away from Midlothian

Mansfield Timberview pulled away from Midlothian in the second half to stay undefeated in District 10-5A play on Friday night at R.L. Anderson Stadium in Mansfield. Running Back Jalen Knox scored on the first play from scrimmage and added two touchdowns in the second half to help secure the victory for the Wolves. Midlothian led the game at half and used a big performance by running back Landry Songer to hang with the Wolves.

Key Players: Timberview running back Jalen Knox ran for 154 yards and caught a 59 yard touchdown pass to put the Wolves ahead for good in the third quarter. Junior running back William Oliver contributed to the win in short bursts, running for 49 yards on 11 carries. Panthers junior Running back Landry Songer rushed for 133 yards and caught two passes for 20 yards in the loss. Quarterback Jerreth Sterns rushed for 69 yards and threw for 87 yards including a 14 yard touchdown pass to JT Cavender in the fourth quarter.

Key Stat: Midlothian committed 75 yards of penalties and fumbled twice, including a lost fumble early in the fourth quarter that swung the momentum to Timberview for good.
