Running back’s big night paces Mansfield

In a District 4-6A opener, Kennedy Brooks ran for 241 yards and four TDs as the Tigers flattened the Panthers 62-3 at Farrington Field.

Key players: Mansfield RB Brooks carried 16 times and had scoring runs of 49, 7, 1 and 75 yards; QB Shawn Hartsfield was 9-for-12 for 181 yards and a 68-yard TD to WR Jackson Gleeson, who hauled in three passes for 105 yards. Mansfield defensive backs Avery Chatman and Miles Williams each had in interception, and kicker Ben Workman had field goals of 27 and 38 yards. For Paschal, RB Jimmy Strange rushed 21 times for 62 yards, and kicker Jackson Joy booted a 31-yard field goal to account for the Panthers’ only score.

Key stat: The Tigers outgained Paschal in 618-158 in total yards.
