Grapevine races past FW Polytechnic

Grapevine quarterback Alan Bowman threw three first-half touchdown passes as the Mustangs opened District 8-5A play Thursday night with a 64-7 win over Fort Worth Polytechnic at Scarbrough-Handley Field.

Key players: Bowman finished with 189 passing yards and four scores. Grapevine’s Eric Brown carried three times of a 58 yards and a touchdown, and caught three passes for 92 yards and a pair of scores. Polytechnic’s lone score came on 32-yard pass from Tyger Tudela to LaChadrick Robinson.

Key stat: Grapevine scored on all seven first-quarter possessions.

Records: Grapevine 4-0, 1-0 8-5A; Polytechnic 1-2, 0-1.
