Ball control helps Flower Mound Marcus hold off Mansfield

The combination of quarterback Michael Henry and running back Justin Dinka combined for 269 yards rushing to hold off a Mansfield rally for a 41-31 victory in a nondistrict game at Flower Mound. Mansfield’s Kennedy Brooks almost matched that total on his own, gaining 239 yards on 26 carries with two touchdowns. The Tigers got to within three points early in the fourth quarter before the Marauders sealed the victory with a late touchdown.

Key players: Flower Mound Marcus quarterback Michael Henry steered the offense with 109 rushing yards and 99 passing yards and accounted for two touchdown passes and a rushing score. Marcus running back Justin Dinka added two touchdown runs and finished with 160 yards rushing. Mansfield running back Kennedy Brooks rushed for 239 yards and had two rushing touchdowns.
