The UIL Texas high school girls’ soccer playoffs are here, and several Fort Worth-area teams will compete.

Here are the things to know.

Class 5A: Centennial, Joshua, Arlington Heights, more

Burleson Centennial (17-1-1) and Joshua (15-3-1) clinched a share of the District 8-5A championship.

The Spartans and the Owls will take top seeds in their respective brackets.

Centennial, in the Class 5A Division 1 bracket, will face Fort Worth Arlington Heights (14-2-2) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, at Scarborough-Handley Field. The Spartans hold a No. 3 ranking from the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

Arlington Heights is a tough first-round opponent. The Yellowjackets clinched a share of the District 7-5A title alongside Fort Worth Paschal (15-3-1). The Panthers, also in the Class 5A Division 1 bracket, will face Cleburne (12-5-2) at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, March 21 at Crowley ISD Stadium.

In the Class 5A Division 2 bracket, Joshua will face Fort Worth Trimble Tech at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 21 at Crowley ISD Stadium.

The Owls are unranked, but have showcased great potential, carrying a nine-game win streak into the postseason.

Another team to look out for is Colleyville Heritage (12-2-1), a young but promising squad.

The Panthers, ranked No. 20 by the TGCA, fell just short of a district title and, with a clean slate heading into the postseason, have the talent to make some noise.

In the Class 5A Division 1 bracket, Colleyville Heritage will face Granbury (8-8-3) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 21 at Aledo High School.

Class 6A: Southlake Carroll, Keller more

Southlake Carroll (19-1-2) won the District 4-6A title outright and carries a No. 6 TGCA Class 6A ranking and a four-game win streak into the postseason.

The Dragons, in the Class 6A Division 2 bracket, will face Mansfield Legacy (8-7-3) at 2:45 p.m. on Friday, March 21, at Crowley ISD Stadium.

Keller (12-1-6) didn’t lose a district game but did not win the district title due to having five draws. In the Class 6A Division 1 bracket, the No. 21 ranked Indians will be a hard team to eliminate.

Keller starts its playoff run against Mansfield Lake Ridge (14-3-2) at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, at Keller ISD Stadium. The Eagles are the District 3-6A champions.

Another District 3-6A team to watch is Weatherford (16-1-2). The Roos are the No. 7 ranked TGCA Class 6A squad and are looking to bounce back in the Class 6A Division 2 bracket after finishing second in district play.

Weatherford will face Keller Central (14-6-1) at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 21, at Azle High School.
