Keller Timber Creek exploded for seven runs in the final two innings Thursday to put away Flower Mound 10-2 in the Class 6A softball playoffs, giving the Falcons their first bi-district championship in program history.

The Falcons (21-8) await the winner of the Hurst L.D. Bell-Duncanville series, which Bell leads 1-0.

Timber Creek scored three in the sixth starting with a two-run single from Casey Akers. Matti Davis tacked on an RBI with an infield single to left.

Akers added a two-run single in the seventh and UT Arlington signee Avery Grimes capped the night with an RBI triple.

Kylee Foster (18-8) allowed four hits, one earned run and struck out six.

Lake Dallas 2 WS Brewer 0

Maddy Breckenridge’s two-run single in the sixth proved to be enough as the Falcons beat the Bears, advancing to the 5A area round.

Brewer third baseman Shannon Rhodes tried to start a two-out rally in the bottom half of the inning with a triple off the center-field wall, but the Bears (19-9) couldn’t scratch the run across.

Lake Dallas pitcher Autumn Graham threw a two-hitter.

Lake Dallas (12-6) meets Burleson Centennial, which defeated Western Hills 10-0 in five innings.

Mansfield 5 Richland 3

The Tigers used a pair of home runs from Natalie Jackson and Haley Morse to help overcome the Rebels in a 6A bi-district one-game playoff.

The Tigers (22-6) trailed 3-2 in the fifth inning before Jackson sent a two-run blast into left to put Mansfield up for good. An inning later, Morse’s solo shot added an insurance run.

Paxton Scheurer (22-5) allowed seven hits before retiring the final 10 Richland batters.
