Why Arlington Heights won: A set-piece play turned into the lone goal of the game as the Jackets defeated the Elks 1-0 in a Class 5A Region I bi-district playoff game at Scarbrough-Handley Field.

Key players: In the 51st minute, India Wentz’s free kick from 30 yards was deflected by the Elks’ goalie. Melissa Woodson rushed in and struck the loose ball into the net. Burleson’s Makenna Saul and Faith Strube created several opportunities, but Heights goalie Vanessa Sigala was up to the challenge.

Key stat: The bi-district win was the Jackets’ 14th in the past 16 seasons. Heights plays Denton in the area round next week.

Records: Burleson 18-2-8; Heights 15-1-4.
