Last-second steal, layup push Fort Worth Dunbar boys over Everman
Why Dunbar won: A capacity crowd at Burleson Centennial High School saw Logan Ray’s steal and fast-break layup with 5.3 seconds left break a 56-56, sending Dunbar to the Class 5A Region I tournament Friday in Snyder.
Key players: Ray finished with 13 points, nine in the second half. Jarrod Fields added 14 points and six steals. Everman’s Jonathan Jackson scored 20 of his game-high 27 points in the second half.
Key stats: Dunbar went on a 19-2 run for a 26-21 halftime lead.
