Frisco Liberty girls end Mansfield Timberview’s perfect season

Why Frisco Liberty won: Mansfield Timberview’s leading scorer, Chennedy Carter, picked up her third foul midway through the third quarter, and a fourth with 7:28 left. She was limited to nine points in the final three quarters. Liberty will face Mansfield Summit in the Class 5A Region II Final at 1 p.m. Saturday at Curtis Culwell Center in Garland.

Key players: Rebecca Lescay led Liberty with a game-high 18 points and seven rebounds. Randi Thompson and Jordan Hamilton added 17 and 10 points, respectively. Carter had 16 points and seven rebounds for Timberview, and Allyson Hinds scored 10 of her 15 in the second half.

Key stats: Timberview, No. 1 in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches 5A poll, came in averaging 80 points in three playoff wins. Liberty shot 25 of 51 from the field.

Records: Liberty 31-6; Timberview 33-1.
