Mansfield Summit girls hold off Prosper to reach regional final

Why Mansfield Summit won: Tied 19-19 after the first quarter, Summit outscored Prosper 34-17 in the second and third quarters and withstood a late rally by making 5 of 6 free throws with less than a minute left to win 65-60. Summit advances to the Class 5A Region II Final at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland.

Key players: Celsi Caraway led Summit with 14 points, all in the first half, and made four 3-pointers. Omia Bell and Khadijah Kelly also scored in double figures for the Jaguars with 12 and 11 points. Prosper freshman Jordyn Oliver had a game-high 29 points with six steals.

Key stats: Summit hit 6 of 9 from the 3-point line in the first half. Prosper went 3 of 20 overall.

Records: Summit 32-6; Prosper 30-6.
