Fort Worth Trimble Tech boys basketball team forfeits four victories
The Fort Worth Trimble Tech boys basketball team has forfeited four District 7-5A wins after the school determined it used an ineligible player during the first eight games of the district season.
The violation was self-reported to the district executive committee. Teams conducted a grade check on Jan. 12, but Trimble Tech had a bye that day and the ineligible player continued playing after the 12th, Fort Worth assistant athletic director Troy Bell said.
Wins against Fort Worth Western Hills (Jan. 15), Southwest (Jan. 22), Wyatt (Jan. 26) and North Side (Jan. 29) are vacated, leaving Trimble Tech 5-5 in district.
The top four finishers in district play qualify for the UIL playoffs. The regular season ends Tuesday, and the playoffs begin Feb. 22-23.
