dfwVarsity roundup: Lake Ridge triumphs, Legacy hangs on 73-66, Trinity goes to 4-0

Mansfield Lake Ridge 48, Lancaster 27: The Eagles (4-0, 1-0 in District 14-5A) are off to their best start in school history and got their first win over Lancaster after losing the first three meetings by a combined score of 126-58. Lake Ridge registered two defensive scores in the first quarter.

Mansfield Legacy 73, Waxahachie 66: Legacy linebacker Garrett Brantley jarred the ball loose from Waxahachie quarterback Bryce Salik with 7:02 left and Keaton Dennis recovered for the Broncos to help preserve win. The back-and-forth scorefest saw 53 first downs and 1,205 yards of total offense.

Euless Trinity 42, Galena Park North Shore 32: Ja’Ron Wilson ran for 243 yards and four touchdowns on 27 carries as Trinity (4-0) wrapped up its nondistrict schedule at Baylor’s Mclane Stadium.
