Individual award winners

Player of the Year: Meredith Hambric, Sophomore, Byron Nelson

Pitcher of the Year: Stacy Jennings, junior, Richland

Newcomer of the Year: Ava Pena, freshman, White Settlement Brewer

Offensive Player of the Year: Ryan Roberts, senior, Mansfield Lake Ridge

Coach of the Year: Josh Richards, White Settlement Brewer

All-Area First Team

Pitchers

Tempe Perry, sophomore, Aledo

Perry, a TGCA All-State selection, went 15-5 with a 2.45 ERA and 98 strikeouts across 108 2/3 innings for the state championship-bound Bearcats, also chipping in at the plate with a .305 average and 32 RBIs. Her shining moment came in Aledo’s victory over nationally ranked Melissa, where she silenced one of the nation’s premier offenses.

Cozy Tyson, sophomore, White Settlement Brewer

One of the area’s most impressive two-way performers, Tyson returned from a UCL injury to go 9-2 in the circle while hitting .461 with 11 home runs and 31 RBIs at the plate. She saved some of her best for the postseason, going 6-1 with five home runs and two doubles in the playoffs and earning State Tournament All-Tournament Team recognition alongside a First Team All-District nod.

Infield

Mackenna Jackson, senior, Keller

The TGCA All-State shortstop and Kansas signee was one of the area’s most productive hitters, batting .509 with seven home runs and 50 RBIs for the Indians.

Kyleigh Pawlak, senior, Aledo

A key bat in the Bearcats’ run to the Class 5A Division I state title game and a TGCA All-State selection, Pawlak hit .405 with seven home runs, 40 RBIs and 14 stolen bases while posting a .459 on-base percentage. She also posted a .933 fielding percentage with six double plays at third base. Pawlak is signed to George Mason University.

Ava Thomas, sophomore, Keller Timber Creek

The District 4-6A defensive player of the year was a force on both sides of the ball. Thomas hit .398 with 51 hits, eight home runs, 35 RBIs and a .750 slugging percentage while posting a .948 fielding percentage with eight double plays at shortstop.

Addyson Sellers, junior, Burleson

The UTSA pledge and Star-Telegram Readers’ Choice Player of the Year put together one of the area’s most dominant individual seasons, hitting .660 with 66 hits, 18 home runs and 83 RBIs, all program records, while posting a 2.091 OPS. The District 8-5A Co-MVP was the engine of the Lady Elks’ offense all season.

Catcher

Breleigh Mayer, senior, Aledo

The TGCA All-State catcher posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in 163 total chances while hitting .366 with 11 home runs and 29 RBIs for the Bearcats in a run to the Class 5A Division I title game. She saved one of her biggest swings for the biggest moment, hitting a home run in Aledo’s win over nationally ranked Melissa.

Outfield and utility

Kaylee Vien, senior, Byron Nelson

The Temple College signee rewrote the Byron Nelson record books, setting single-season program marks in hits, doubles, home runs and RBIs while also breaking the career home run record. Vien hit .432 with 54 hits, 17 doubles, 12 home runs and 52 RBIs, posting an .888 slugging percentage and earning District 4-6A Offensive MVP and TGCA All-State honors.

Hope “Lillie” Gaudio, junior, Mansfield Legacy

Gaudio, an LSU pledge and TGCA All-State selection, was one of the area’s most dangerous hitters, batting .551 with 18 home runs and 51 RBIs for the Broncos.

Addi Inocencio, sophomore, Keller Timber Creek

Timber Creek’s ace logged 181 1/3 innings across 28 starts, going 19-7 with 266 strikeouts and a 3.05 ERA. She also contributed at the plate, hitting .349 with 11 doubles and 22 RBIs in 86 at-bats.

Brooke Mayner, sophomore, Burleson Centennial

The District 8-5A Co-MVP and TGCA All-State selection was dominant in two roles for the Spartans. In the circle, Mayner went 8-3 with a 1.68 ERA, 121 strikeouts and a .157 batting average against in 71 innings. At the plate, she hit .523 with 16 home runs and an OPS of 1.699.

Abby Atkinson, junior, Boyd

A Stanford commit and one of the state’s premier two-way players, Atkinson went 23-3 with a 0.89 ERA, 315 strikeouts and just 39 hits allowed in 141 innings. At the plate, she hit .553 with 52 hits, five home runs, 17 doubles and 50 RBIs while posting a .915 slugging percentage.

All-Area Second Team

Pitchers

Reagan Jordan, junior, Birdville

The two-way junior was one of the area’s most versatile contributors, hitting .337 with 14 home runs and 34 RBIs while posting a 2.39 ERA and holding opposing hitters to a .218 average in the circle. She earned TGCA All-State honors.

Maddie Richey, junior, Fort Worth Country Day

The Boston College commit was virtually untouchable in the circle, going 12-4-1 with a 0.91 ERA, 0.641 WHIP and 235 strikeouts across 107 2/3 innings while holding opposing hitters to a .119 average. Richey threw two no-hitters and a perfect game on her way to 497 career strikeouts, earning All-SPC Conference honors.

Infield

Erin Jacinto, senior, Eaton

The TGCA All-State selection and Midwestern State signee hit .480 for the Eagles and was one of the area’s most reliable infielders.

Evelynn Swartzlander, junior, Birdville

The Tennessee commit and TGCA All-State selection earned District 6-5A Utility Player of the Year honors after hitting .422 and demonstrating the versatility to play multiple infield positions for the Hawks.

Addy Watson, sophomore, Boswell

Watson, who plays first base and pitches, recorded a terrific .556 average with 46 RBIs and 11 HRs. In the circle, she tallied a 0.65 ERA in 21 2/3 innings.

Haylie Jimenez, junior, White Settlement Brewer

The First Team All-District shortstop hit .442 with nine home runs, 46 RBIs and 46 runs scored while posting a .519 on-base percentage. She knocked in 13 runs with four home runs in the playoffs and earning State Tournament All-Tournament Team recognition.

Catcher

Gabby Salas, senior, Boyd

Salas, a Kilgore College signee and the District 10-3A Catcher of the Year, was one of the area’s most productive hitters at any position, batting .536 with 52 hits, six home runs, 19 doubles and 44 RBIs while posting a .959 slugging percentage.

Outfield and utility

Sydona Meiser, senior, Keller

The TGCA All-State selection and Texas Tech commit was one of the Indians’ most productive run producers, hitting .500 with nine home runs and 57 RBIs.

Addy McFarland, senior, Keller Timber Creek

The First Team All-District leadoff slapper set new school records for stolen bases in both a single season and a career, swiping 30 bags while hitting .416 with 57 hits and a .444 on-base percentage.

Mya Vasquez, junior, Fort Worth Benbrook

Vasquez was one of the area’s most reliable hitters, batting .620 for the Bobcats in a run to a district title.

Alexis Ramirez, sophomore, Fort Worth Diamond Hill-Jarvis

Ramirez stuffed the stat sheet, batting .667 with 48 hits, 16 doubles, eight triples, seven home runs and 48 RBIs while posting a 2.124 OPS. Her seven home runs set a new school single-season record, and she added 19 stolen bases while earning First Team All-District honors.

Haley Mennenga, senior, Birdville

Mennenga, a TGCA All-State selection and New Mexico signee, was an offensive force for the Hawks with a .452 average, nine home runs and 37 RBIs.

Hometown hero

Kamren Pride, junior, White Settlement Brewer

Pride rallied her community with a strong season and saved some of her best swings for the playoffs, clubbing four home runs and driving in 17 runs to earn State Tournament All-Tournament Team recognition. On the season, she hit .366 with six home runs, 40 RBIs and an .460 on-base percentage.
