Introducing the 2026 Fort Worth-area High School Baseball Coach of the Year: Keller’s Rob Stramp.

Stramp retired with a fairytale ending to a storied career in high school baseball, leading the Indians to a Class 6A Division I state championship victory. It was the program and Stramp’s first state title win and the first baseball championship for Keller ISD.

“It feels unbelievable to be able to finally get it done for coach (Rob) Stramp in his last game,” said Keller senior Cole Koeninger after the title game. “He deserves it more than anyone. He’s been here so long and has been so close, that to finally get it for him is really special.”

On the way to beating Lake Travis 2-1 in the title game of Texas’ largest classification, Keller eliminated Mansfield Lake Ridge, Odessa Permian, Flower Mound, district rival Euless Trinity and Rockwall.

Stramp started coaching Keller in 1998 and has led the team to playoff appearances in every season since 2002, accumulating more than 750 victories.

Keller posted a 40-4-2 overall and 15-1 District 4-6A record against area powers including Euless Trinity, Byron Nelson and Southlake Carroll. Keller assistant Jared Stafford, who has been coaching under Stramp since 2012, is set to take over the program.

Editor’s note: The 2026 All-Area Baseball individual awards will be released Wednesday, and the full 2026 Fort Worth All-Area Team will be revealed Friday.
