Keller baseball’s state championship game pushed back because of bad weather
Several University Interscholastic League Texas high school baseball state championships at Dell Diamond have been pushed back because of bad weather, the UIL announced Friday.
Keller and Austin Lake Travis’ Class 6A Division I title game was moved to 3 p.m. Saturday. The current plan is for Aledo and Lake Creek to finish the Class 5A Division I title game Friday night.
The Class 5A Division II state title game between Lucas Lovejoy and Mission Sharyland, originally scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, was moved to 9 a.m. Saturday.
The Class 1A state championship between Gordon and Groveton Centerville is now scheduled for noon Saturday.
The final championship, the Class 6A Division II contest between Tomball and Houston Memorial, is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday.
According to the UIL, all games will be played at Dell Diamond. Tickets and parking for the Class 5A Division II title game will be honored Saturday.
“This plan is contingent on overnight weather patterns,” A UIL spokesperson said in a statement. “We will send out additional information as it becomes available.”
