Class 3A school 35 miles south of Fort Worth wins consecutive softball titles
The Grandview Zebras are back-to-back UIL Texas high school softball state champions.
Grandview (36-3-1) defeated Iowa Park 2-0 in the Class 3A Division I state championship Thursday at Red & Charline McCombs Field at the Univeristy of Texas. Grandview senior pitcher Madi Doty, a Texas signee, was dominant on the field she is set to continue her career on in a complete game shutout, allowing three hits, a walk and striking out 14.
Grandview’s solid fourth inning was enough to give the Zebras a lead. Junior KJ Hubbard got her team on the board with an RBI double, and Iowa Park failing to cover first properly on a ground ball extended the lead.
Grandview has made four consecutive state tournament appearances and five since 2018, while Iowa Park (32-9-1) was looking for its first state title in its fourth state tournament appearance since 2021.
