After a UIL Texas high school volleyball state championship win in 2025, Eagle Mountain head coach Catherine Foerster has departed to become La Vernia High School’s head volleyball coach.

The Eagle Mountain Knights won the Class 4A Division II state championship in the program’s second season. Eagle Mountain High School opened ahead of the 2024 volleyball season, and played that year without any seniors.

The championship was historic for the city of Fort Worth, as it was the first time a school within city limits has played in a UIL volleyball championship game. It was also the first time Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD was represented in a volleyball championship.

Foerster led Decatur to state titles in 2020 and 2021 and also won two as a player in 1999 and 2001 at Hereford. For the Knights’ championship run, she earned Texas High School Coaches Association Volleyball Coach of the Year honors.

EMS ISD posted the vacancy online, and interested candidates send resumes to EMS ISD athletic director Todd Raymond. In 2026, Eagle Mountain will play in Class 5A.
