Player of the Year: Trapper Davis, senior forward, Aledo
Davis capped off a standout high school career, earning TASCO First Team All-State and District 5-5A Co-MVP honors in his senior season with Aledo. The forward was a nightmare for opposing defenses, finishing the year with 30 goals and nine assists, including five crucial playoff goals. Davis closed out his prep career with an impressive 60 goals and 23 assists, cementing himself as one of the most productive players in program history. He led the Bearcats to a 21-4-2 overall record.
Defender of the Year: Noah Abiodun, senior, Southlake Carroll
Abiodun was the heartbeat of a stout Carroll defense, earning First Team All-State, First Team All-District, and a coveted TASCO All-Star Game selection in his senior campaign. The captain anchored a backline that recorded 10 shutouts on the season, bringing a commanding presence that set the tone for the Dragons throughout the year. The team allowed 24 goals on the season.
Goalkeeper of the Year: Drew Vozeh, senior, Aledo
Vozeh was a wall between the posts for Aledo, earning TASCO First Team All-State goalkeeper honors after one of the most dominant seasons in the area. The senior started all 22 games, going 20-1-1 while posting 12.5 shutouts and 67 saves. Vozeh conceded just eight goals on the year for a stingy 0.44 goals-against average, adding District 5-5A First Team All-District recognition to his resume.
Offensive Player of the Year: John Skiermont, Southlake Carroll
Skiermont was the driving force behind Carroll’s attack, taking home District 4-6A MVP and All-State Honorable Mention honors to go along with a First Team All-District nod. The midfielder was as creative as anyone in the area, leading all of DFW with 21 assists while also contributing 14 goals, including three in the playoffs. Skiermont’s vision and playmaking ability made him one of the most dangerous players in the region this season.
Newcomer of the Year: Jorge Hernandez, freshman midfield/forward, Castleberry
Hernandez made an immediate impact, earning District 8-4A Co-Newcomer of the Year honors. The versatile midfielder-turned-forward finished the year with six goals and two assists, with five of those goals coming in district play and one more in the playoffs. Hernandez spent most of the season in midfield before transitioning forward in the back half of district, and the move proved to be effective.
