A second North Texas high school baseball team has been removed from the UIL high school baseball playoffs.

Poolville ISD self-reported an eligibility violation to the University Interscholastic League, according to a statement from Poolvulle ISD superintendent Chris Pennington posted to Facebook. Poolville plays in Class 2A and posted an 8-1 record in District 13-2A.

The statement said Poolville ISD became aware of the violation earlier this week, calling it an “oversight that resulted in a student participating in district games while technically ineligible. “

Poolville will relinquish its district title. The school has been removed from the UIL playoffs, according to UIL class 2A brackets.

Pennington apologized to the students and said the district will conduct a full audit of the athletic eligibility process.
