Colleyville Heritage sweeps Ryan
Colleyville Heritage scored in every inning except the third as the Panthers completed a sweep of Denton Ryan 9-2 on Friday in a District 6-5A contest at Colleyville Heritage High School.
Colleyville Heritage (10-12-1 overall, 5-3 district) moves into a third-place tie with Argyle. The Panthers also won 7-6 over Ryan (14-9-1, 2-6) on Thursday night as the Raiders dropped into a fifth-place tie with NRH Richland.
The Panthers pounded out 11 hits with Graham Barton, Colt Wallace, Bradyn Disman and Ethan Jackson contributing 2 hits each. Braeden Templin led CH with 3 runs batted in. Jobe Reed tosses 5 innings, scattering 4 hits with no runs, 7 strikeouts and 3 walks.
Lake Ridge blanks Weatherford to remain on top in 3-6A
Mansfield Lake Ridge got a combined 1-hitter from T Green and A Lahue Jr. as the Eagles blanked Weatherford 5-0 on Friday night in Weatherford to remain at the top of the District 3-6A standings.
Lake Ridge (17-7-2 overall, 7-1 district) got a pair of doubles from D Harper who also walked twice. Harper doubled in a pair of runs in the Eagles’ 3-run third inning.
J Thomas doubled to left in the seventh inning to put the game away, driving in two. Green tossed 5 innings of no-hit, no-run ball, striking out 5 and walking 2 with Lahue allowing 1 hit in 2 innings with 3 Ks and 2 bases on balls.
F Ortega got the only hit for Weatherford leading off the bottom of the sixth.
Grapevine keeps rolling, shuts out Birdville
Gianni Corral homered and Luke Esquivel tossed a complete-game shut out as Grapevine blanked North Richland Hills Birdville 7-0 in a District 6-5A game on Friday at Grapevine High School.
Corral singled in a run in the third and blasted a 3-run homer in the fifth to lead Grapevine (24-3 overall, 10-0 district). Jorvorskie Lane Jr. doubled in three at bats driving in a pair of runs and scoring twice for the Mustangs.
Esquivel scrattered 4 hits in seven innngs of work striking out 13 and walking none. Chase Reaves had 2 hits for Birdville (15-9-2, 6-2).
