Smithson Valley (29-0-0) kept its record spotless in its first championship game appearance. Walnut Grove (23-4-1) was also making its first trip to a title-game.
Walnut Grove is in its third year of playing soccer and with the loss the Wildcats have just 7 losses and 5 ties in those 3 seasons of play (61-7-5).
The game was closely contested with each team finishing with 10 shots and Smithson Valley having a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal. Sanchez was named the Championship Game MVP.

College Station (16-8-4) never even got a shot off in the match, much less a shot on goal against Walnut Grove goalkeeper Quinn Shelton who gets credit for the clean sheet.
Isaac Marah got things rolling for the Wildcats with a goal in the 33rd minute. Mason Kutch, the Championship Game MVP, made it 2-0 in the 43rd minute which, essentially, put the game on ice.
Pieper gets late goal to stun Wakeland
San Antonio Pieper got a goal from Jack Blische in the 73rd minute as the Warriors shocked Frisco Wakeland 1-0 in the boys Class 5A Division II championship game on Friday.

Jackson Blankenship got the assist on the goal by lofting a long cross from the far right side to Blische who was in front of the goal on the left side. The perfect pass was easily punched in by Blische for the game winner.
Wakeland was making its ninth appearance in a championship game and the Wolverines have 5 titles to show for it. It was the first title game for Pieper.
