Introducing the 2025-26 Fort Worth Star-Telegram All-Area High School Boys Basketball Team. Check out individual award winners and the first, second and third teams, as well as honorable mention.
Player of the Year: North Crowley’s Isaak Hayes
Hayes led North Crowley to a Class 6A Division I state championship, its first since 2008, averaging 18.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. The junior set the pace and the tone for an area-leading offense.
Hayes, who has offers from Kansas State, TCU and more, shot 37.2% from 3-point distance, taking and making shots from NBA range. He also shoots 86% from the free-throw line.
With a blend of skill, shot making, quickness and a high motor, he commands the defense’s attention. Hayes was named the Class 6A Division I state championship MVP and earned Texas Association of Basketball Coaches all-state honors.
He was named the District 3-6A MVP and also made the Reagan Rattler and Beach Ball Classic all-tournament teams. He was part of a dangerous one-two punch with forward Trey Hall, an All-Area First Team selection who was also extremely valuable to North Crowley’s success.
Coach of the Year: Mansfield Summit’s Emund Prichett
Prichett led the Jaguars to back-to-back Class 5A Division II state championships, and the team made its third state tournament appearance in four seasons. The run was hardly expected, as Summit dealt with a fair amount of roster turnover after the 2025 season.
Under Prichett, the dominance continued, and the program proved itself to be a long-term powerhouse with a proven championship system focused on incredibly strong team defense.
The Jags, champions of District 8-5A, ended the season with a 34-6 record.
In the playoffs, Summit’s opponents averaged 34.6 points per contest. In the state semifinals, the Jags held Lucas Lovejoy to 35 points, and in the state final, West Brook was held to 40 points.
Next season, Summit will aim for a championship three-peat.
Offensive Player of the Year: Birdville’s Sawyer Dotson
Dotson ended a stellar career at Birdville averaging 20 points and 8 rebounds, leading the Hawks to the Class 5A Division I state semifinals. He was named MVP of the Whataburger Tournament and earned a spot on the Lions Club all-tournament team.
Dotson, a 6-foot-7, 200-pound Lipscomb pledge, was named to the TABC’s Class 5A all-state and all-region teams and also earned District 6-5A Offensive Player of the Year honors. As one of the best pure shooters and scorers in the area, Dotson led the Hawks to a 31-6 record and back-to-back state tournament appearances.

Price played a crucial role in North Crowley’s run to a Class 6A Division I state championship, averaging 6.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 2.4 steals per contest.
The junior was named the District 3-6A Defensive Player of the Year in a district packed with talent. He welcomed tough defensive assignments, leading the way for the Panther’s perimeter defense that helped secure a 35-3 overall record and a district title.
He played winning basketball overall, recording a 4.72 assist-to-turnover ratio, committing only 46 turnovers in 38 games. His team-oriented play didn’t require him to be a top scorer, but it was just as important to the squad’s area-leading success.
Newcomer of the Year: Mansfield Summit’s Joseph Creal III
Creal broke onto the scene and stole the show, helping power Mansfield Summit to a Class 5A Division II state championship. The freshman guard earned title game MVP honors, scoring 20 points and showcasing his elite shooting by converting six 3-pointers.
During the season, he averaged 10 point and 4 rebounds en route to being named the District 8-5A Newcomer of the Year and earning first-team all-district honors. He landed an offer from UT-Arlington in September.
