North Crowley quarterback Hayes Cloutier announced a transfer to JSerra Catholic High School in California on social media.

Cloutier, a junior, was the Panthers’ starting quarterback during most of the 2025 season. He helped lead the team to a 12-2 record and a regional final appearance.

Cloutier’s move to California is a return. Prior to his junior season, he transferred to North Crowley from Inglewood, taking over for four-year starter Chris Jimerson Jr., a former Star-Telegram Player of the Year who led the Panthers to a Class 6A Division I state championship. Jimerson is now at North Texas.

Cloutier, who threw for 2,058 yards and 21 TDs last season, has offers from Arizona and Sacramento State.

In 2025, it seemed Cloutier would compete for the starting job with class of 2027 QB Jacob Torres, a transfer from Burleson Centennial. But Torres was ruled ineligible and appealed the decision, which was denied by the UIL Executive Committee.

After sitting out the 2025 season, Torres is now fully eligible and a name to watch to compete for the starting job. As a sophomore at Centennial, he earned district offensive player of the year honors, passing for more than 2,000 yards and establishing himself as a top talent in the Fort Worth-area.

With Cloutier’s transfer to JSerra, two Fort Worth-area quarterbacks have now taken their talents west. Former Aledo quarterback Nash McElree announced a move to Mission Viejo in March.

Cloutier will team up with two-time NFL All-Pro linebacker Hardy Nickerson, who was announced as JSerra’s head coach this offseason. According to Max Preps, the JSerra Lions ended the 2025 season with a 3-7 record and went 0-5 in the Trinity League against powerhouses like Mater Dei.
