Renovations are underway at Cravens, Wilemon. What is Arlington ISD’s plan?
Two Fort Worth-area high school football stadiums are undergoing renovations: Arlington ISD’s Cravens and Wilemon Fields.
Arlington ISD athletic director Eric White said the projects are a sizable overhaul that’s “taking it down to the bones.” There will be new concession stands, locker rooms, restrooms, press boxes, bleachers, turf and redone tracks.
White said the district is hoping to complete renovations by the summer of 2027, so Arlington ISD teams can utilize three fields in the 2027 football season. Capacity for the stadiums is expected to be 8,400 at minimum.
In the meantime, Arlington ISD will continue to use Choctaw Stadium and UT-Arlington, along with Glaspie Field, which opened at the campus of Arlington Martin in September 2025.
“They’ve been great partners for us and helped us through these years of growth,” White said of Choctaw Stadium and UTA. “There may be special events there on occasion. ... We’d always keep the door open with them, but the goal is to be self-sufficient and to play all our games [within Arlington ISD].”
The revamped Cravens Field and Wilemon Field will model and resemble Glaspie Field, which serves as the home football field to Martin and Arlington Seguin.
White said Cravens, on the campus of Arlington Lamar, will be shared with Arlington High, while Wilemon, on the campus of Arlington Sam Houston, will be shared with Arlington Bowie.
Both stadiums will use the same LED lights as Glaspie. According to Arlington ISD, they are more efficient and provide showmanship to help get fans involved.
