SPC swim results: Forth Worth Country Day girls make the podium, more from area

The Forth Worth Country Day Falcons finished third in the girls team standings and fourth in the boys at the SPC 3A Swimming and Diving championships held on Friday and Saturday.

Country Day accumulated 106 points good for team Bronze in the Girls division while the Boys totaled 49 points.

Houston Awty International, with 158 points sat atop the Girls standings, while The Woodlands John Cooper’s 162.5 points was good for Boys first place in the team scores.

Fort Worth Country Day winners

GIRLS:

Chloe Nelson (50 and 100 freestyle events) and Emily Nelson (100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke) each picked up a pair of Gold medals.

Chloe Nelson ran the second leg while Emily ran the third in capturing Gold in the 200 Medley Relay. They were joined by Courtney Comeaux and Burkley Massey.

The Nelsons, Massey and Alisha Mehta teamed up for a Silver finish in the 400 Freestyle Relay competition.

Massey earned a pair of individual Silvers in 50 Freestyle and the 100 Breaststroke. Mehta garnered a Bronze in the 200 Freestyle.

BOYS:

Gareth Teoh nabbed two Silvers in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke. Nathaniel DeLaughter took Bronze in the 100 Freestyle.

Teoh and DeLaughter combined with Thomas Readinger and Ronan Acuna Guba to win Bronze in both the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Freestyle events.

Other area winners

Arlington Oakridge freshman Jaeden Frick was a Bronze winner in the Boys 50 Freestyle. Frick tied for second place, but his lower preliminary time pushed him to a Bronze finish.

The Oakridge Girls 200 Freestyle Relay quartet of Reese Davis, Anna Trimble, Simron Singhal and Ana Savoe claimed Bronze.

With 29 points, the Arlington Oakridge Girls managed a fourth-place finish in the team standings.
