65 Fort Worth-area boys HS basketball players to watch the rest of the season

The Texas high school boys basketball season is well underway, and several Fort Worth-area athletes are leaving their mark.

Editor’s note: The majority of players to watch are nominated by Fort Worth-area coaches. Statistics shown are as of the time of nomination submission. Top players omitted from the list were not nominated.

Arlington Heights

Kaeden Grant, senior Averages 19 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists per game.

Jamorium Price, junior Contributes 6 points and 6 rebounds per game.

Brandon Clemmons, sophomore Averages 7 points and 4 rebounds per contest.

Arlington Martin

Steven Reynolds III, senior G A 6-foot-5 shooting guard and one of the top offensive threats in the region. He averages 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals per game. The 247Sports four-star prospect has offers from Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Indiana, Notre Dame and Texas A&M. He is arguably the top uncommitted recruit in the state.

Levi Moore, sophomore PG A key contributor averaging 12 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal per game. He shot 43% from 3 last season while averaging two made 3s per game and earned honorable mention all-district honors as a freshman.

Jeremy Nyakundi, senior F A 6-foot-9 forward averaging 8 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block per game. A three-year letterman who stretches the floor with a 36% 3-point percentage and holds a college offer from Long Island University.

Azle

Carson Cook, junior Has been productive for the Hornets, averaging 14.7 points, 2.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 54% from the field.

Bryce Robinson, senior A key contributor averaging 13.7 points and 4 rebounds per game while shooting 32% from 3-point range.

Jayden Taylor, senior Averages 11.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest.

Birdville

Sawyer Dotson, senior F A Lipscomb commit and one of the most talented offensive threats in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, the 6-foot-7 forward averages 21 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. As a junior, he was named District 6-5A MVP, earned all-state honors and led Birdville to the Class 5A Division I state championship game.

Avery Webb, senior G Plays a major role in one of the most high-powered offenses in Texas. The Saint Mary’s pledge averages 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. As a junior, he earned District 6-5A first-team honors.

DJ Driver, senior G Averages 12 points per game and is one of the best defenders in Texas, recording 6 steals per contest. He was selected to the District 6-5A first team as a junior.

White Settlement Brewer

Braelon Orr, senior G A primary contributor averaging 12 points and 3 assists per game.

Jayden Johnson, junior F A 6-foot-5 forward who averages 11 points and 7 rebounds per game.

Braylen Brown, junior PG Contributes 8 points, 5 assists and 2 steals per contest.

Burleson Centennial

Mason Williams, junior F A steady contributor for the Spartans, averaging 12.1 points and 7 rebounds per game.

Chisholm Trail

Jesse Mutombo, junior PG A three-year starter who earned first-team all-district honors as a sophomore, he averages 19 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 3 steals per game. Head coach Rodney McFadden calls him a complete player with a high basketball IQ.

Jordan Goree, junior G Has been productive for the Rangers, averaging 10 points, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game while shooting 42% from 3-point range in his first year with the team.

De’vion Johnson, junior SG Contributes 11 points per game in a well-rounded offense. He has made 43 3-pointers while shooting 33% from beyond the arc.

Colleyville Heritage

D’Mauri Evans, senior G A 5-foot-10 guard averaging 15.2 points, 4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. A three-year letterman and starter who has helped Colleyville Heritage win six playoff games over the past two seasons.

Sameer Johnson, junior G Averages 14 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. He was part of Colleyville Heritage’s 2025 regional finalist team.

Grayson Eichinger, senior G Averages 11.1 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists per game and was also part of the 2025 regional finalist team.

Covenant Classical

Jack Liebelt, junior G An honorable mention all-district selection last season who averages 10 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals per game.

Ellis Mitchell, senior F A first-team all-district and second-team all-state selection from last season who averages 15 points and 8 rebounds per game.

Crowley

Jaelon Germany, senior G A 6-foot-3 guard and game-changer for the Eagles. He is rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports and holds offers from Denver, Mississippi State, Texas State, Northern Colorado and others. He averages 17 points and 2.2 assists per game.

Kingston Willis, senior G A key contributor averaging 11 points per game. He leads the team in assists with 3.5 per contest and steals with 1.7.

Collin King, freshman W An extremely efficient scorer shooting 66% from the field. He leads the team with 4.4 rebounds per game and has a bright future with a 6-foot-6 frame.

Eaton

Wesley Zenon, junior G/F A 6-foot-3 swingman and returning first-team all-district selection who was named 2024–25 Newcomer of the Year. In district play, he averages 13 points and 6 rebounds per game.

Kent Kelly, senior G Averages 8 points and 2 steals per game in district action while shooting 36% from 3-point range.

Caleb Harris, senior F A 6-foot-5 forward and returning first-team all-district selection who averages 11 points and 5 rebounds per game while shooting 35% from 3.

Everman

Eydan Robles, senior G

As the primary floor general and defensive catalyst for the Bulldogs, he averages 9 points, 4.6 assists and 2 steals. He provides constant perimeter pressure.

Glory Makolo, junior F

With a 51.1% shooting percentage, he is efficient at the rim. He averages 5.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.

Dez Harris, senior G

As the team’s top perimeter threat, he shoots 35.2% from distance and has made 38 3-pointers. He averaged 8.1 points per game.

Jamariee Brown, senior G/F

A top scorer for the Bulldogs with 9.48 points per game. He is efficient, shooting 51.4% from the field. He is also a top rebounder with 5.7 per contest and thrives specifically on the offensive glass.

Fort Worth Diamond Hill-Jarvis

Anthony Elizondo, senior G Has broken several school records, including career points, assists and steals. He averages 20.8 points, 4.3 assists, 6.9 rebounds, 3.6 steals and 1 block per game.

Fort Worth Southwest

King Taylor, sophomore Averages 12 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists per game. He earned first-team all-district honors last season.

Brenden Baker, sophomore Averages 10 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists per game. He was named first-team all-district and district newcomer of the year as a freshman.

Chandin Davis, senior Averages 12 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists per contest. He earned second-team all-district honors last season.

Grapevine

Manny Amal, junior F A consistent double-double threat averaging 13 points and 9 rebounds per game.

Beckham Hopkins, sophomore G Plays a key role for the Mustangs, averaging 10 points and 3 assists per game.

Grapevine Faith

Landon Ford, junior G One of the top scorers in school history, leading the Lions with 16 points per game while shooting 53% from the field. He also has 48 steals on the season.

Max Siebert, junior G Made 84 3-pointers as a sophomore and has hit 91 as a junior. He averages 13.5 points per game and shoots 36% from 3-point range.

Aden Alexander, junior F Has recorded seven double-doubles this season and averages 9 points per game.

Matthew Branco, junior W A big, athletic wing averaging 12.3 points and 5 rebounds per game.

Keller

Cash Erdmann, junior G

Erdmann is Keller’s top scorer at 10.9 points per contest.

Shawn Harris, senior C

Harris, with a 6-foot-8 frame, is a top player for the Indians. He averaged 10.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while shooting 52% from the field.

Keller Fossil Ridge

Jarren Williams, senior G Recently passed the 1,000-career-point mark and has helped Fossil Ridge earn 13 wins this season.

Kennedale

Jacoby Lovings, senior G A 5-foot-10 guard averaging 16 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds per game. He led the Wildcats to a Class 4A Division I state championship win in 2025.

Lake Worth

Braylen Fridia, sophomore As a freshman, he earned district newcomer of the year honors. He now averages 18.6 points, 3.4 assists and 1.7 steals per game as a sophomore.

Tyriel Scruggs, sophomore Averages 14 points and a team-high 11 rebounds per game.

Nolan Catholic

John Fioroni, senior G Has had a strong career with the Vikings, scoring over 1,600 points. As a senior, he averages 23 points while shooting 40% from 3 and 92% from the free-throw line. He also adds 6 rebounds and 6 assists per game while frequently facing double teams.

North Crowley

Trey Hall, senior W/F A 6-foot-7 forward who has been extremely effective for the Panthers, the TABC’s No. 2-ranked team in Texas. He averages 14.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 2.0 steals per game. He has earned three all-tournament team honors and was named MVP of the San Antonio Reagan Rattlers’ Invitational.

Isaak Hayes, junior PG/CG A key contributor since his freshman season who commands defensive attention and elevates his teammates’ play. One of the most skilled players in Texas, Hayes shoots 38.2% from 3 and 89.9% from the free-throw line. He averages a team-high 16.8 points, 4.3 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

Alex Barther II, senior W A transfer from Fort Worth Eastern Hills who averages 13.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game. He shoots 54.2% from the field and 45.2% from 3-point range and has taken a big step forward in district play.

Kameron Price, junior PG Does much of the defensive dirty work, averaging 2.4 steals per game while often guarding opposing teams’ top scorers. He also averages 5.5 assists, 6.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. His 4.5-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio would be a school record.

Richland

Kamari Friend, junior G Has been productive within the Birdville offense, averaging 16 points per game. He shoots 41% from 3-point range and was named district sophomore of the year last season.

Kole Dortch, sophomore PG A talented underclassman averaging 16 points per game while shooting 38% from distance. He earned district freshman of the year honors last season.

Southlake Carroll

Riley McCoart, senior G An all-around contributor averaging 17.4 points, 4.7 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game. He has made 68 3-pointers while shooting 38% from deep.

Noah Johnson, junior G A consistent scorer averaging 14.8 points, 2.5 assists and 3 rebounds per game. He has made 61 3-pointers while shooting 35% from beyond the arc.

Southwest Christian

Andrew Treichler, junior F A dominant interior presence averaging 15 points and 12 rebounds per game. He has elevated his play recently, posting 21 points and 16 rebounds over the last four games, including a 26-point, 20-rebound performance against Fort Worth Christian.

Grayson Yocom, junior G Averages 11 points, 4.1 assists and 2.7 3-pointers per game.

Crosby Pipes, freshman G Has made an immediate impact, averaging 9.5 points and 2.5 3-pointers per game.

Colton Carey, senior G Averages 10.5 points, 2.5 assists and 2.1 3-pointers per game. Despite dealing with three ankle injuries this season, he has consistently returned to contribute.

Trinity Christian

Jonathan Overholt, senior F A dominant presence averaging 15.4 points, 10.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. The 6-foot-7 forward is a consistent double-double threat who uses his length effectively on both ends of the floor.

Weatherford

Kamryn McDonald, senior G

McDonald is receiving interest from Division III and junior college programs. He averaged 18 points on 58% shooting while also adding 7 rebounds per game. He has 65 assists on the season.
