Martin star, TCU’s highest-rated class of 2026 recruit, likely out for season
Arlington Martin four-star defensive end Jesse Ford will be sidelined with a hamstring tear, he announced on X.
Ford, a TCU commit, wrote that he will most likely be done for the season.
“God works in all kinds of ways, and I know he has a different plan for me than what I expected,” Ford wrote. “God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers and I will continue to be a leader of this team.”
Ford earned numerous preseason honors, including a spot on Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Preseason Whataburger Super Team. He made the Star-Telegram Preseason All-Area Super Team and was selected as the Fort Worth area’s No. 1 defensive end to watch.
Ford is 247Sports’ No. 29 class of 2026 player in Texas and No. 32 defensive end in the nation. With a 6-foot-4, 235-pound frame, Ford had 49 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks and two forced fumbles last season.
Ford is TCU’s highest-rated class of 2026 recruit. As a junior, he made the Star-Telegram All-Area Second Team.
Arlington Martin lost its Week 1 game 48-21 to Austin Lake Travis and will look to bounce back in Week 2 against Denton Guyer. The Warriors missed the playoffs in 2024, the first time in 18 seasons.
