High school football games in Fort Worth area delayed due to weather
On the opening night of the Texas high school football season, several games in the Fort Worth area were delayed due to lightning in the area.
Several games scheduled to start at 7 p.m., including Lancaster-North Crowley, Flower Mound Marcus-Keller and Plano West-Arlington Lamar, were all delayed. Those games finally kicked off around 8:40 p.m.
Byron Nelson started its game against Wolfforth Fresnship at 6 p.m. in Abilene. After a delay, the Bobcats were able to resume play.
Mansfield Lake Ridge and Frisco Reedy were able to start their game, given that it was being played indoors at the Ford Center at the Star.
Keller Fossil Ridge started its game at The Colony at 8:05 p.m.
The start of Mansfield Timberview vs. Dallas Kimball at Sprague Field in Dallas was pushed back to 9 p.m.
