Marvin Nash, Ole Miss executive, named head football coach at Chisholm Trail
Eagle Mountain-Saginaw announced Marvin Nash as the next head coach of Chisholm Trail on Thursday.
Nash has 20 years of football leadership experience and most recently served as assistant director of player personnel at Ole Miss. He previously served as the executive director of recruiting and player personnel at Rice.
Nash replaces Ricklan Holmes, who left late in the coach hiring cycle to become assistant athletic director in Arlington ISD after one season as the Rangers’ head coach. The team went 6-5 after moving down to Class 5A and lost to Aledo in the bi-district round — it was the program’s first playoff appearance.
According to EMS ISD, Nash is an expert in the fields of recruiting, character assessment, NIL revenue sharing, scouting, long-term roster planning, creative media and on-campus strategy. While at Rice, he worked as the program’s NFL Liaison, providing valuable information about Ole Miss’ draft prospects.
Prior to his time in the college ranks, he spent 15 years building a reputation as an assistant coach at Denton Guyer, Crosby, San Marcos HS, and Frisco Wakeland.
Nash has a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Psychology and Sports Science. He played college football at Austin College.
